Introduction
The Combat and Control System (CCS)
Section provides engineering test and evaluation for Combat Systems,
Machinery Control Systems, Power, and Electronic Systems. CCS
has expertise in hardware and software system elements, as well
as in system integration. The section provides support for both
the Canadian Patrol Frigate (CPF), or Halifax Class, and the Tribal Upgrade and Modernization
Program (TRUMP), or Iroquois Class ships of the Canadian Navy.
CCS section is also the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA)
for the worldwide support of the Seasparrow Guided Missile System,
a joint eight-country weapon system initiative.

- Engineering support, testing and evaluation of new and in-service
combat systems.
- Test and Trials support of Combat Systems and electronic equipment;
- Support in the review of documentation and acceptance testing
of naval equipment;
- Evaluation of data recording requirements for weapon firings
and review of firing data for in-depth analysis;
- Engineering support for Combat System simulators and Naval
Gun Simulation Systems;
- Evaluation and testing of software and hardware installations,
on site at naval test ranges;
- Ship infrared signature measurement;
- Testing and evaluation of fibre optic technology;
- Engineering testing and evaluation of power, generation and
distribution systems for the effects of Electro-magnetic Interference
(EMI)
and Electro-magnetic Compliance (EMC);
- Testing and evaluation of power generation and distribution
systems for conformance with Mil standards;
- Evaluation support for event reconstruction, modeling and simulation for Operational Analysis and Operational Test and evaluation; and
- Evaluation and Option Analysis for Ships Systems and new or upgrade of existing systems for DND.
